I read this book a few years ago titled the Moral Landscape by author Sam Harris, In it he considers there to be a "hypothetical space representing human well being which encompasses all human experiences. The peaks of this landscape are the heights of prosperity, and the valleys represent the depths of human suffering". Ever since I read that it got me thinking about what that might look like visually. What would my own personal moral landscape look like, with it's own peaks and valleys, and how would it interact with those around me?

On February 6, 2015, I had the amazing experience of organizing 'The Dirty Show,' hosted by Twisted Studios Photography, LLC. My erotically charged artwork slid right onto the deep red walls in this centrally located, lush, fetish photography studio. The ironically quiet, intimate space also allowed the viewers to peek at my other artist friends' 'Dirty' artwork, including Peter T Oravetz, Linda Gonzalez, and Idella Spann. As the event itself was invitation only, the 'Dirty' artwork was also special and intimate. Not everyone got the pleasure of viewing what the artwork had to offer.
The show itself was inspired by the sexual experiences shared with me while working and running The Flying Saucer Cafe. Each piece is someone's story from the coffee shop. The environment of this inner city coffee shop had much energy from caffeine, politics from local characters, and porn. Mostly porn talk and the few sexting photos in between shots of exciting espresso. Each piece I completed has a main character along with a supporting cast. The names have been changed to protect those who lead a double life. Because I constructed these images, I found a new understanding of what sexual acceptance means.

August 7-, 2015, I had the pleasure of showing artwork at PII Gallery in Philadelphia. Other artists I showed with included Emily Strange, Joanna Domanowska, and Ewa Zeller.
PII Gallery showcases art from around the world, more specifically from Eastern European and American contemporary art. The Gallery has developed a one of a kind reputation in Old City, Philadelphia showcasing international and local emerging artists, especially in the realms of textile design, printmaking, painting, sculpture and photography. With a new expanded annex in a centuries-old building, the Gallery serves a wide array of art lovers from many different cultures.
I knew Monica from the Flying Saucer Cafe, the coffee shop in the Fairmount section of Philadelphia. My cafe was just a few short blocks from the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and seemed to fuel the atmosphere. I have a way of making the unfamiliar patron feel at home, and because my coffee was amazing and I contributed a relaxed environment, Monica and I would have enlivening conversations about art that some found quite controversial.
When viewing the nude artworks presented at this show, you'll find that the lines and subtle blue and pink highlights invite your senses to appreciate their forms. Delightful hands and soft, curvy hips are sensual and bare. As a main theme in this show, sexuality is to be taken and literally and metaphorically. As society continues to contribute to the evolution of what sexuality is, my intent with this artwork does the same. Being sexual (or not) and defining yourself through your gender in a sexual way (or not) can contribute to consciousness and self-awareness in all aspects of your life.
I host drawing classes occasionally and this one in particular was held in Northern Liberties at the now infamous 3rdWard.
In the moment is how we were living then, throwing caution to the wind and not caring what people thought.
We may have been broke with no actual props, supplies or cash but there it was, a giant can of pudding. For a brief moment there was freedom in that big can of Vanilla Pudding, freedom from all the rules, not just your rules, not my rules but NO RULES! Perhaps I'm exaggerating a bit but there was always a certain amount of freedom involved when working on projects with Howard because he doesn't follow any.

There's few things that captivate me more than capturing the human figure. This is a small study with a live model in preparation for a larger painting. The quick sporadic line is all I can do to contain the energy in my sometimes Phantom hand, it want's to move as though it were playing a guitar solo.

It's important for any artist to work an environment where he or she feels creative and inspired to get shit done. Here's one of my studios where I got more natural sunlight than I knew what to do with.
There was an art show titled "12 Inches of Sin," and although my submissions weren't accepted I'm still very proud of these pieces. They highlight the diversity of my friends here in the City of Brotherly Love, and more specifically, a group of people that live, and in some cases, thrive on the margins of the mainstream. This is mostly by choice, but often times out of necessity.
